My name is Naomi. I’m an artist & this is my portfolio.
Admittedly, I haven’t studied photography professionally and navigated Lightroom on an phone screen before upgrading to a laptop for far too long…
But I choose the label and ambition of a “creative.” It suits us as the handiwork of the Good Creator. We inspect His wonderful world; drawn to its’ intricacies because they tell us about Him. Human imagination & innovation, this insistent desire to pick up a paintbrush, sit at the piano, put pen-to-paper, or capture golden hour is an active part of our relationship with God. It’s worship and sacred co-creation (as Tolkien loved to say) reminding us that the chasm between heaven and earth, between dust and the divine is reconcilable.
“Beauty takes the pursuit of goodness past mere personal ethical conduct to the work of intentionally doing good to and for others. Beauty takes the pursuit of truth past the accumulation of knowledge to the proclamation and application of truth in the name of caring for others. Beauty draws us deeper into community. We ache to share the experience of beauty with other people, to look at someone near us and say, ‘Do you hear that? Do you see that? How beautiful!”
-Russ Ramsey
I take pictures because I love people & I love the Lord. People are infinitely expressive and uniquely beautiful in a way nothing else in creation resembles and photography is the perfect lens to see and share God’s creative design. It’s a storyteller’s art.
